BROADWAY DANCE STYLES
Our dancers will continue to learn jazz basics and proper dance techniques while exploring the various styles used in Broadway shows. The students will work with Ms. Amy for the first 8 weeks in the session and then for each of the following weeks in the semester, a guest "choreographer" will come in to teach our dancers a routine using the skills they learned in the first few weeks of the session. At the end of the session, there will be a video "recital" showcasing their routine for friends and family to enjoy. SCREEN & PAGE ON STAGE
- A MUSICAL THEATRE EXPERIENCE This project and performance-based workshop is an opportunity for actors to learn about some of the most iconic Broadway musicals! Screen & Page on Stage features musicals based on comics, fairytales, and movies. All participants will be featured in several songs and scenes and be able to explore design elements for each show. Students will perform in a video presentation that they will be able to keep for future audition and submission purposes as well as to just enjoy with family and friends. SONGWRITING II
Students must have taken Songwriting I or have special permission from the instructor Have you ever wanted to write a song like the ones you listen to on the radio, TV, Spotify, etc.? Are you curious about how music is composed, lyrics are written, and how the two components come together? If you want an exclusive look into the world of songwriting, both from a process standpoint as well as a creative standpoint, this course is for you. This songwriting course explores effective composition techniques, creating melodies, writing lyrics, and blending each ingredient to make the perfect song.
